Focal point project
Project Goal: Create a focal point display for the chosen product.
Project Rationale: My product was a Ballentine’s Scotch Whisky bottle. The concept was developed by enlarging the coat of arms and showcasing the symmetry while placing the bottle in the center. The shield in the middle was used to establish a sense of depth in the display box while bringing the bottle closer to the front.
plywood project
Project Goal: Create a wooden piece with only the given amount of plywood.
Project Rationale: My concept was to craft a balanced, symmetrical, and rhythmic piece that had some tension, which created the movement. The slats were placed to give the illusion of bending wood. The end concept can be seen in a large space or building which allows the flow of people through the path.
wreath 2020
Project Goal: Create a wreath displaying the story of the “rat” which is the animal for lunar New Year 2020.
Project Rationale: Since the year of the rat symbolizes fertility and abundance, I decided to use two rats with the tails meeting to create a heart. They are surrounded by orchids, blossoms and a ton of fruits which further signifies the connotations.
