Etsy Tradeshow Booth
Project Goal: Design a 100 foot square exhibitor booth for an Etsy Vancouver Spring Craft Show. The Etsy shop chosen was by students’ preference.
Rationale: My vision for the tradeshow booth included mainly open space for movement and a sidewall that also acted as a shelf. That shelf would allow visitors to view the 3D-printed plants from both sides of the shelf. I considered showing the 3D printer in operation because each item they produced was on-demand without wasting material.
50’s Scandinavian Inspired Barber Shop
Project Goal: Groups were assigned a randomly selected style/trend to design a small upscale hair and make-up/barbershop space.
Rationale: The shop's brand identity “Kilppa” is derived from the Swedish term meaning “to trim/clip”. The process started with researching 50s Scandinavian furniture and fixtures, then designing furniture such as the countertops, trolleys, table, and reception desk. Since the interior parameters were small, I used wallpaper on the side walls to give the illusion of more depth.
Mini Eco-Friendly Soap Shop
Project Goal: Design a small soap shop for eco-friendly products.
Project Rationale: The atmosphere of the shop was chosen to be a calm with minimalistic design. The balanced nature of elements within the space was to create a sense of peacefulness when customers arrived. Slats were used to give the impression of a higher ceiling and openness.
